The service and its operator
Innovaduck Limited provides the hosted IG2IRL service at ig2irl.app. These terms apply to your use of that service. If you do not agree, do not use the hosted service. A separately self-hosted copy may have a different operator and terms.
IG2IRL supports browser-local Instagram export and pasted-post intake, Review, a device Library, map lookups and exports. Optional configured account features provide a separate Account Library. An optional Instagram DM pilot accepts supported new shares through the project inbox for manual Review.
IG2IRL is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta or Instagram. It does not synchronize Instagram saved collections, scrape private content, or retrieve media or full captions from pasted links.
Your choices and account
An account is not required for local import, Review or the device Library. Signing in does not automatically upload device places. Explicit account transfer retains device copies and sends approved places and their provenance, not raw import files or unfinished Review.
For DM intake, you must choose the disclosed server processing and complete sender pairing. Sending a message to the project Instagram inbox does not create an IG2IRL account, authorize access to your other Instagram data, or automatically save a place.
Use only accounts you control, protect your sign-in access, and do not share linking or confirmation codes. You can stop paired DM intake by unlinking and stop using account features by deleting your account. See the data deletion instructions for what those actions remove.
Our Privacy policy explains server processing, browser storage, providers and retention limits.
Appropriate use and content
Only import or share content you are entitled to use for your intended purpose. Respect the privacy, copyright and other rights of creators and people mentioned in content. A public post or a shareable link does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted reuse rights.
Do not use IG2IRL to bypass access controls, impersonate someone, access another person's account data, send unlawful or abusive material, expose secrets or sensitive personal information, or disrupt the application or its providers. Do not evade service limits or use automated requests that interfere with normal operation.
You remain responsible for your submitted content and how you use exported places. Using IG2IRL does not transfer ownership of your content to Innovaduck Limited; we process it for the service purposes described in the Privacy policy.
Review places before relying on them
Extracted names, caption evidence, map matches and coordinates may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Meta may supply only a partial title or no original permalink. You may need to add the original link, correct text or enter a place manually.
Review suggestions before saving, and independently check locations, access, opening hours, travel conditions and suitability before visiting. IG2IRL is an organizational tool, not a guarantee of accuracy, safety, access or availability, and is not an emergency or navigation service.
Availability and keeping copies
The service and optional pilot can be changed, paused or discontinued. Network failures, provider restrictions, browser limitations or maintenance may make features unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted access or permanent storage.
Keep your own copies of important information using the export features. Clearing browser data, losing a device or leaving unfinished Review can lose local data. Pending DM items are temporary, not an archive; they expire under the retention process described in the Privacy policy.
We may restrict use when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, address misuse, or comply with law. Privacy and deletion requests remain available through our contact address. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer rights.
Other services
Instagram messaging, identity, hosting, storage, place lookup and map features depend on third-party providers. Their availability, permissions, limits and terms apply to your use of their services. IG2IRL does not grant access beyond the permissions those services provide.
Links to Instagram posts and maps take you to external services. Deleting data in IG2IRL does not delete copies held by Meta, exported files or browser data on other devices.
Contact and changes

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will publish the updated version with its date and explain material changes before they take effect where required. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
